AWANA AT SOUTH PARK

ABOUT AWANA
At South Park Baptist Church, we believe in loving and discipling the next generation.
That’s why we’re excited to launch Awana Clubs starting August 2025! Awana is a fun and engaging discipleship program designed to help children and students grow in their faith, know God’s Word, and build lasting relationships. Through interactive lessons, Scripture memory, and age-appropriate activities, we’re committed to raising up young followers of Christ in a safe, welcoming environment.
Awana's Discipleship Philosophy
Awana Clubs is built on their 3B ministry philosophy of child discipleship: Belong, Believe, Become. Children build spiritual resilience when they feel they belong to Jesus, when they believe in the truth of the Bible and then become disciplemakers in their own right.
What happens at an Awana Club?
A night at an Awana club balances connection, learning the Gospel and having fun to help kids grow relationally and spiritually. They will engage in large group time, small group time and group activity time.
Age Groups & Classes
We have age-appropriate classes designed to meet the developmental needs of each child:.
- Preschool (Ages 3-5 years):
Cubbies (3-5 years) Cubbies will learn core truths about God, Jesus and salvation.
- Elementary (Grades K-6th):
Sparks (K-2nd Grade) Sparks ignites children’s curiosity and builds a foundation for knowing Jesus Christ.
T&T (3rd-6th Grade) T&T can encourage kids to explore the meaning of God’s grace and how it affects our relationship with Him and others.
- Students (Grades 6th-12th)
Trek (6th-8th Grade) Trek helps middle school students solidify what they believe and own their faith.
Journey (9th-12th Grade) Journey inspires high school students to be lifelong disciples of Jesus.

Check-In & Check-Out Process
We prioritize the safety and security of your child during their time in Awanas.
Our Check-In/Check-Out Process is simple and secure to ensure peace of mind for all parents.
- Check-In:
- Upon arrival, head to the Check in station where you'll find our staff/volunteer who will check you in.
- They’ll enter your child’s information, and both you and your child will receive matching name tags.
- The child’s name tag will include their name, and any important allergy or special needs information.
- You’ll keep the parent pick-up tag, which is required for check-out.
- Check-Out:
- After service, return to your Child's classroom with your parent pick-up tag.
- Our volunteers will verify the matching tags before releasing your child to you.
- For added safety, no child will be released without the corresponding pick-up tag, ensuring only authorized adults can take them.
- This process helps ensure a smooth, safe, and secure environment for your children while they learn and grow in their faith.
